Damage assessment of water supply networks due to seismic events using vulnerability functions

نویسندگان

چکیده

The paper presents commonly used methodology for assessing damage of water supply networks after a seismic event. relies on deriving and applying so-called vulnerability function. An overview the existing functions is given together with parameters, primarily related to soil deformations, which are influencing assessment. Also, critical review possibility their use given. Finally, by using two approaches, estimated number damages, associated repair costs, network City Petrinja earthquake December 29, 2020. With total 3 800 new it that costs around HRK 28 million. accuracy these estimates should be verified detailed collection processing relevant data in accordance guidelines.

Seismic Vulnerability assessment of concrete railway bridge using nonlinear analyses

Bridges, as an essential part of transportation system, play a special role in economy, politic and military all around the world. Serviceability of bridges is of high importance especially in emergencies, helping injured people and proportioning transportation after earthquakes. Earthquake regulation codes, normally suggest linear methods to conduct the analysis, and nonlinear analysis is bare...

VULNERABILITY ASSESSMENT OF WATER DISTRIBUTION NETWORKS: GRAPH THEORY METHOD

The main functional purpose of a water distribution network is to transport water from a source to several domestic and industrial units while at the same time satisfying various requirements on hydraulic response. All the water distribution networks perform two basic operations: firstly the water network needs to deliver adequate amounts of water to meet specific requirements, and secondly the...

assessment of the efficiency of s.p.g.c refineries using network dea

data envelopment analysis (dea) is a powerful tool for measuring relative efficiency of organizational units referred to as decision making units (dmus). in most cases dmus have network structures with internal linking activities. traditional dea models, however, consider dmus as black boxes with no regard to their linking activities and therefore do not provide decision makers with the reasons...

Application of graph-spectral methods in the vulnerability assessment of water supply networks

Many critical infrastructures consist of networks with complex structure, since they have highly interdependent elements and nontrivial designs with a degree of complexity that depends on the settings and level of interaction between these elements. The theory of complex networks employs techniques borrowed from graph theory to classify different types of networks, analyse their structures, and...
